About the Role
As a Principal Data Architect, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our data infrastructure. You will be responsible for understanding complex business models and use cases for analytics, and leveraging this knowledge to design and build a unified data model. This model will include a comprehensive data lake to support various use cases such as search, machine learning, and artificial intelligence, as well as a highly optimized data warehouse for customer facing analytics within the Highspot product. 

What You'll Do

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into technical requirements for data architecture.
  • Design and implement scalable data models that cater to a diverse set of use cases across highspot, including Analytics, Search, ML, and AI.
  • Develop and maintain a robust data lake architecture that integrates data from multiple sources, ensuring data quality and consistency.
  • Optimize data warehouse performance to support fast, reliable analytics and reporting.
  • Ensure data security, governance, and compliance across all data platforms.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of data engineers and developers.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve our data architecture.

Your Background

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in data architecture, data analyst, or a related field.
  • Proven experience with data lake and data warehouse design and implementation.
  • Strong understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and data governance.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, and modern data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) and machine learning frameworks.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Base salary range: $167,826 - $252,174 Employees are eligible to receive stock options and may also receive other forms of compensation.

The above represents total expected compensation for this role. Actual compensation will depend on various job-related factors, including, but not limited to, location, experience, and job qualifications.
