How you’ll make an impact

As Data Analyst   in the Data & Analytics team, you will be responsible for delivering high quality data analysis and insights frameworks to enable fast decision making and strategic design. You will  play an integral role in supporting insights and decision making. You will be responsible for leading the requirements capture, data collection, analysis, visualization and storytelling.

The Data & Analytics team is responsible for empowering Xero to deliver successful digital, customer & marketing outcomes through actionable insights. We enable customer, marketing and digital product teams with key information to; understand the current trends, customer and landscape, inform and motivate customer behavior and shape customer & marketing strategy. 

What you’ll do

  • Extract and analyze data from the Xero Data Warehouse and Google Analytics, Salesforce Marketing Cloud to help the marketing team deliver data driven marketing campaigns and insights in order to support  acquisition/retention and cross sell efforts.
  • Deliver timely post campaign analysis, dashboards and support with regular and ad hoc reporting requirements.
  • Support lifecycle team analysis and reporting requirements.
  • Proactively seek out any new data and insights, and suggest enhancements to existing process.
  • Identify and surface any data quality issues and take ownership of the correction.
  • Create accurate and meaningful reporting and visualizations. 
  • Deliver timely reporting for Marketing metrics. 
  • Present complex analysis to stakeholders, in a simple and compelling way.
  • Develop campaign analytics frameworks 
  • Develop Marketing ROI models.

What you’ll bring with you

  • Critical competencies:
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL for data extraction, manipulation and analysis.
  • Solid Python skills.
  • Proficiency in Google Analytics & Big Query.
  • Experience with Data visualizations, BI tools such as (Tableau, Power BI, Microstrategy)
  • Experience  in statistical analysis.
  • Ability to tackle unfamiliar domains and work with complex and diverse datasets.
  • Provide objectives and goals with loose guidelines/directions.
  • Clearly communicate expectations. 
  • Have an open mind and the flexibility to change opinions. 

  • Experience:
  • A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in a similar role
  • 2+  years of experience in data & analytics
  • Must have digital or tech industry experience.
  • Experience delivering analytics in the form of visualizations and interactive dashboards.
