We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Tech Lead to head our client's core engineering team. This role is pivotal in building shared services and core components on the Azure cloud stack, enabling application teams to easily create bespoke applications and user journeys. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with deep technical expertise and a passion for developing scalable, robust solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the core capabilities and Lead a team of developers in designing, developing, and maintaining core services and cross cutting components that form the foundation of the fintech platform.
  • Architect and implement shared services on the Azure cloud stack to support various application teams in building bespoke apps and journeys efficiently.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers and other stakeholders to define and prioritise technical requirements and ensure alignment with business goals.
  • Oversee the integration of modern technologies and cloud infrastructure, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and security.
  • Conduct thorough code reviews, ensuring adherence to best practices and high-quality code standards.
  • Develop and enforce coding standards, best practices, and development methodologies across the team.
  • Mentor and support junior developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, ensuring minimal disruption to ongoing projects.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, applying this knowledge to enhance the platform's capabilities.
  • Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines to streamline development and deployment processes via managed libraries.

Requirements

Key Experience

  • Extensive experience in software development, with a strong focus on fintech applications and cloud-based architectures in compliant environments.
  • Proven track record of leading development teams and delivering high-quality secure and performant software solutions.
  • Deep expertise in modern tech stacks, particularly in Azure cloud services and infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of microservices architecture, API development, and integration.
  • Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing issues.
  • Strong leadership and project management skills, with the ability to drive projects to completion.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, capable of working effectively with diverse teams.
  • Experience with database management and optimization, particularly with SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Familiarity with security best practices in fintech, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Flexibility with working hours and ability to travel to client sites.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with DevOps practices and tools, such as Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes.
  • Strong scripting skills in languages such as Python.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure as code tools like Terraform or Ansible.
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with agile development practices and methodologies.
