As an Intermediate Software Engineer working specifically on our Rundeck Cloud team you will have the chance to make this large impact for current and future enterprise level customers by taking an existing on premises product and transforming it into a best in class SaaS solution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Designing, coding, testing and shipping APIs, backend applications and microservices that ensure we deliver secure, highly reliable and scalable solutions to our customers.
  • Since we own and operate what we build, you’ll collaborate closely with engineers across teams.
  • With 14,000+ global customers and growing, you’ll be solving really interesting technical challenges while helping to scale our product to keep up with demand.
  • You will work with a wide range of systems, processes, and technologies to build solutions that solve customer problems.
  • You will be participating in your team’s on-call rotation, triaging and addressing production issues as they arise.

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Fullstack experience,  or backend focused but open to growing more full-stack engineering experience 
  • Backend skills: Previous experience in Java is a must;
  • Building APIs and services in distributed, highly available systems
  • Experience with MySQL, DynamoDB or other commonly used relational/noSQL databases
  • Experience with kubernetes, EKS, or AWS is a plus
  • Development experience working on customer-facing and web based systems
  • Good written, verbal communication and development practices are required.
  • Experience working in an agile environment with iterative development and fast feedback.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • You are comfortable with loosely defined requirements where you exercise your analytical skills to clarify questions, share your approach and collaborate with your team to build & test elegant solutions.
  • You have a drive to get results.
  • Nice to have: Grails, Hibernate, Spring Security.
  • Nice to have: Experience with frameworks such as Spring boot or micronaut
  • Nice to have: Build and deployment tooling such as CircleCI, Docker, AWS experience, Terraform or similar.
  • You have a desire to stay ahead of the latest industry trends and technologies, a track record of sharing contributions to the wider engineering community and a commitment to continuous learning.
  • You have an understanding of the importance of empathy - you view other opinions with an open mind and clearly communicate your thoughts in order to reach technical solutions quickly.
  • You have a calm, assertive approach to diagnosing and fixing urgent problems.
  • Experience with Frontend web development, particularly with Vue

 

**This role is expected to come into our Santiago, Chile  office 1 time per month, so you can thrive in your new role and fully embrace being a Dutonian!**
