Position Summary

Our team is composed of experts in Machine Learning and AI, working together to push the boundaries of what's possible in machine learning and code generation through innovative use of Large Language Models (LLMs). We value diversity, creativity, and the pursuit of excellence in all our endeavors.

About the role

  • Conduct innovative research and development in AI, focusing on advanced code generation techniques and the application of Large Language Models (LLMs) to enhance Harness Inc.'s technology platforms.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of scientists, engineers, and product developers to integrate AI solutions, including LLMs, into practical applications.
  • Design and drive end-to-end ML projects, working closely with engineers and back-end software to deploy and maintain ML models in a production environment.
  • Stay informed about the latest advancements in AI, machine learning, and LLMs, applying new knowledge to ongoing projects.
  • Engage in the full research cycle, including idea generation, experiment design, implementation, evaluation, and documentation, with a focus on leveraging LLMs for innovative solutions.
  • Collaborate with different teams to implement custom ML models and algorithms to apply to different datasets, with an emphasis on product development.
  • Contribute to the AI community through publications, presentations at conferences, and active participation in relevant forums and discussions.
  • Work with a small team of data scientists and engineers in a very high-impact role, applying your expertise to build packaged and shipped products in the space of software delivery.

About you

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, or related fields required; Master’s degree or PhD preferred.
  • Professional experience in building machine learning infrastructure, and/or applying machine learning algorithms to drive technical product development.
  • Demonstrated experience or strong interest in AI, specifically in code generation, NLP, or related machine learning fields, with a special emphasis on LLMs.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and Java, and familiarity with AI/ML frameworks like TensorFlow and PyTorch.
  • Publication in relevant conferences or journals, or active participation in AI communities (e.g., GitHub, open-source projects) is highly regarded.
  • Ability to work effectively in both independent and team settings, with excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Curiosity and continuous learning attitude towards emerging AI technologies and methodologies.

Work Location

Mountain View, California. Harness follows a hybrid, in-office schedule - 3 days per week.

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $164,000 - $200,000 annually. Salary is determined by a combination of factors including location, level, relevant experience, and skills. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations.  The compensation package for this position may also include equity, and benefits.
