At GoDaddy the future of work looks different for each team. Some teams work in the office full-time; others have a hybrid arrangement (they work remotely some days and in the office some days) and some work entirely remotely.

This is a remote position, so you’ll be working remotely from your home. You may occasionally visit a GoDaddy office to meet with your team for events or meetings.

This team is responsible for ensuring our production environment meets and or exceeds our Availability SLA (99.99), ensures our compliance/patching is maintained, scales and builds new features as well as technical solving to address operational issues that arise. We have hundreds of services running on thousands of hosts (both physical and virtual) within our own data centre and external cloud providers on 6 continents. To keep the lights on with such a forward-thinking team requires a particular abilities and skills (we strive to automate all things)

What you'll get to do...

  • Run and maintain both on-prem OpenStack workloads as well as cloud workloads on AWS.
  • Embrace a DevOps mentality and help automate common operational tasks to improve efficiency and reliability
  • Collaborate with customers to understand and address their operational needs, providing exceptional support and mentorship
  • Drive a standardized approach to monitoring and operational transparency, ensuring flawless performance across our systems
  • Be a key player in our on-call support rotation, responding promptly to any issues that may arise
  • Support the development of standards and effective practices, contributing to the ongoing improvement of our infrastructure and processes
  • Join our highly effective infra and git-ops team and collaborate closely with skilled individuals to accomplish our goals

Your experience should include...

  • 5+ years Linux system administration and networking experience, enabling you to solve sophisticated challenges with ease
  • Proven experience with monitoring tools such as Cloudwatch, Elastic, and Prometheus, ensuring efficient performance and proactive issue resolution
  • Proficiency in Configuration Management tools like Ansible, Puppet, and Github Runners, streamlining deployment and configuration processes
  • Scripting skills beyond Bash, such as Python, Go, or Ruby, to automate tasks and develop efficient solutions
  • Familiarity with Google Cloud or AWS services like EC2, S3, and ElasticSearch
  • Experience with configuration as code tools like CDK, Sceptre, or Terraform
