THE OPPORTUNITY

We are hiring a Backend Software Engineer to our Stickiness team in Brazil! 

Our mission as Stickiness Squad is to make the users stick on the Gympass Services. So, we are constantly doing experiments to engage the users. Also, we are working closely with health data platforms (like AppleHealth and Google Health) to have a simple way to access and share user health data across the Gympass ecosystem.

Stickiness is part of the CODE Focus Area, acronym for Consumer Digital Experience, which means we're in charge of the experience and services that will guide people in their wellbeing journey. Our main goal in CODE is to make wellbeing universal. From knowing about Gympass, and getting access to exclusive benefits, to using our vast partner's network, it is in the end-user experience. 

YOUR IMPACT

• Help to define the architecture of systems and integrations, bring innovation to the table, and make sure design docs are up to date;
• Ensure successful deliveries, and promote the long-term technical health of our journeys;
• Ensure a high bar on code quality standards, making sure devs are proud of their work;
• Spread development best practices such as code reviews, pair programming, TDD, etc;
• Build reusable code for future use;
• Take part in incident resolution and troubleshooting in the production;
• Live the mission: inspire and empower others by genuinely caring for your own wellbeing and your colleagues. Bring wellbeing to the forefront of work, and create a supportive environment where everyone feels comfortable taking care of themselves, taking time off, and finding work-life balance.

WHO YOU ARE

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline or equivalent practical experience;
  
• Experience designing and developing complex modern web applications;
• Experience in developing RESTful web services collaborating with front end teams to create mocks, define payloads, and HTTP status of APIs;
• Experience with at least one programming languages such as Go, Kotlin or Java;
• Experience with SQL/NoSQL technology such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, DynamoDB, understanding common use cases and performance pitfalls;
• Experience dealing with event-driven architectures and message brokers such as RabbitMQ, KAFKA, AWS SQS, AWS SNS, etc., and an in-depth understanding of their use cases and pitfalls;
• Experience with Kubernetes;
• Experience with monitoring, observability, and KPIs tracking;
• Experience with microservices and high volume distributed systems;
• Experience with Cloud-based architectures in the AWS;
• Strong communication skills, including verbal and written English and Portuguese.
