About the team you’ll join:

This role sits within Xero’s Customer Platforms team in the Platform domain (Sprouts pod), focusing on safeguarding the stability, performance and scalability of Xero’s core Salesforce Platform through DevOps and Platform solutions. 

We are one of New Zealand’s largest and most comprehensive Salesforce implementation working with a team of experienced and certified Salesforce practitioners.  

What you'll do:

  • You will build and support the use of high quality platform and DevOps solutions for our Customer Platforms engineering teams, focusing on sustainably excellent engineering. 
  • You will work closely with our wider Customer Platforms teams to design and deliver solutions that continually improve engineering experience within our teams and scale our Platform solutions. 
  • You will undertake software application development on applications in our suite of solutions including DevOps, Salesforce and custom solutions, contributing to new or improved experiences for our customers, internal and external.
  • Practice agile software development.  Occasionally facilitate ceremonies.  Proactively work to improve team processes.
  • You will help build and manage solutions that solve engineering problems at scale.  You will be enabled to seek clarity with technical complexities and be able to demonstrate smart ways to automate.

What you'll bring:

  • You’ll have a growth and continuous learning mindset to solve problems in our platform ecosystem
  • You’ll be open minded, keen to learn and take on a variety of engineering challenges to improve and safeguard our platform and engineering experience
  • Exposure and experience to Salesforce is beneficial, but not a requirement
  • Exposure and experience in DevOps engineering is beneficial, but not a requirement
  • Experience in using a primary programming language, including but not limited to: Apex, JavaScript, Node.js, Html/CSS
  • Experience with DevOps tools and platforms, including but not limited to: Git, GitHub Actions, New relic, Sfdx CLI, Bash, AWS
