Our Cloud Platforms team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help accelerate GoDaddy’s cloud journey! This is an excellent opportunity to use the latest tools, technologies and processes on a built from the ground up cloud platform that serves as the foundation of many of GoDaddy’s services. This position is for our Cloud Platform Observability team, where you will play an integral part in the design and build of our next-generation registry service for cloud-based applications. This team of engineers is responsible for designing and delivering a cloud registry service that provides an interface into the footprint of GoDaddy’s cloud deployment landscape through auto-registration and auto-discovery of resources and services that are deployed to the AWS cloud. We are looking for engineers who have a passion for problem-solving and want to be involved in cutting-edge systems that are used regularly and are critical to the company delivering applications with a global footprint. What you’ll get to do…

• Act as the domain expert within and outside the team in multiple technical domains
• Help GoDaddy build the next generation cloud registry service using core AWS services
• Passion for designing and developing high-quality and extraordinary solutions to real complex distributed-computing problems
• Write great code, innovate, lead, and contribute to technical architecture for scalable systems using open-source and cloud based solutions
• Write highly scalable, highly available, cloud-native applications
• Test code via system, functional and unit tests
• Build extensive monitoring and remediation infrastructure to validate and maintain uptime of services and ensure performance
• Collect resources, services, and cost metadata in real-time from thousands of AWS accounts across multiple AWS organizations.
• Work with newer technologies such as serverless, micro-services, containers, and distributed architectures
• Understand all components of the stack in detail to build an end-to-end user experience
• Participate in agile concepts such as daily stand-up meetings, task tracking boards, design and code reviews, automated testing, continuous integration, and deployment
• Gather requirements from users of the platform and join forces with other cloud platform teams to deliver solutions.

Your experience should include…

• 5+ years industry experience in a software engineering role and building large scale distributed applications or solutions
• 2+ years of AWS Cloud computing experience 
• Strong experience in Python programming language
• Solid base in algorithms, data structures, complexity analysis, and performance optimization techniques
• Experience testing and deploying code using CI/CD pipelines (Github Actions preferred)

You might also have…

• Experience with micro-services, and containers, docker preferred
• Experience with AWS Cloud Development Kit (CDK)
• Hands-on experience with search technologies (Elasticsearch)
• Knowledge of distributed data stores (Cassandra, Dynamo, S3)
• Experience in designing, analyzing, and solving large-scale distributed systems
