The Sr Software Engineer is responsible for technical analysis, design and development of robust solutions for simple to complex use cases within Salesforce.com and adjacent technologies within the Customer Technology domain. This position will also be responsible for supporting Salesforce Administration tasks and activities for new projects and small enhancements. The role requires developing strong relationships with Stakeholders, Engineering, and IT teams to proactively plan and drive technical activities/tasks for projects and support work in order to attain technical excellence.

This role sits within IT and reports to the manager of Customer Technology. The Customer Technology team selects, implements, and maintains the applications, platforms, and tools that enable the Marketing, Customer Service and Commercial Operations teams to do their best work. We do this by building world class technical solutions that are prepared to scale, are developed on a common set of data, and are seamlessly integrated.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Participate in the planning and prioritization events to account for technical activities for projects and maintenance initiatives 

  • Accountable for designing, implementing, unit testing, integration testing and bug fixes for assigned projects 

  • Conduct review and analysis of business requirements to create technical solutions 

  • Lead and participate in code reviews, peer inspections and technical design/specifications

  • Work with cross-functional teams to resolve process issues and identify business process improvement opportunities

  • Development of technical architecture artifacts like (ERDs, Dataflow Diagrams, Integration Diagrams etc.) and delivery of technical solutions that meet business requirements

  • Perform support and maintenance tasks to address production issues reported by end users

  • Maintain familiarity with other business systems and platform technology capabilities in order to make sounds recommendations for future needs

  • Provide on-going process and system support during critical business operational processes, inclusive of evening and weekend hours when required

  • Ensure systems are regulatory compliant and meets Cruise’s security requirements

  • Document processes on Cruise’s internal wiki, create job-aids for users, and deliver technical training when needed

What you must have:

  • 5+ years of Software Engineering experience with successful Salesforce project implementations

  • Experience in Salesforce.com development including custom objects, Apex, Visualforce, Force.com, IDE, Triggers, HTML, CSS, JS, SQL, Data Migration Tools, and Integrations

  • Experience designing Salesforce integrations with different systems utilizing Web Services (REST or SOAP) or middleware (i.e. Mulesoft)

  • Experience with managed packages and AppExchange

  • Strong knowledge of Salesforce best practices and methodologies 

  • Highly skilled at problem solving and critical thinking in a technical context

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills as you work with the business to set and maintain priorities

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams

  • Ability to work in a growing organization while keeping focused on key goals and priorities

  • Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills

Nice to have:

  • Current relevant Salesforce certifications

  • Strong preference for Salesforce Service Cloud Implementations (Communities, Case Management, Incident Management, Claims Management, Knowledge base and Agent Console)

  • Prior experience working with Customer Data Platform (CDP) technologies 

  • Experience with SOA or microservice-based architectures and common cloud platforms like AWS/GCP/Azure

  • 2+ years of experience in Agile practices

The salary range for this position is $178,500 - $210,000. Compensation will vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. You may also be offered a bonus, long-term incentives, and benefits. These ranges are subject to change.
