The Role:
SoFi is looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our Commercial Banking team. This role offers a unique opportunity to significantly influence the technical roadmap and direction within the payments and bank sponsorship domain.

As a SoFi Senior Software Engineer, you will be deeply involved in the entire product lifecycle, from ideation to implementation, deployment, and continuous improvement. This includes architecting new systems, developing functionality, resolving bugs, and maintaining system health, all while continuously growing your skill set. You will collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Engineering teams, working alongside a talented team of engineers. We are looking for someone who is both forward-thinking and hands-on, possesses a strong drive for delivery, and is a good mentor and team player.
What You'll Do:
- Lead the development and testing of our systems and services
- Participate in shaping the technical architecture of the product
- Help translate product requirements into user stories and technical solutions
- Contribute to the development of highly available and scalable services in a production environment
- Generate ideas for new initiatives and technologies
- Communicate with project leads, product managers and other software developers
- Conduct code reviews, provide feedback, and mentor junior engineers
- Stay current with industry trends, bring innovative ideas, and contribute to engineering standards
What You'll Need:
- Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science or related field
- 4+ years of experience as a software engineer, designing and implementing complex software solutions
- Deep understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and best practices
- Extensive experience with Java/Kotlin, Spring, AWS, Kubernetes, Temporal, Kafka, and DynamoDB
- Proficiency with Git and CI/CD systems
- Experience in collaborative coding, code reviews, and pull requests
- Proven track record of scaling highly available and critical systems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to collaborate and drive projects to completion
Nice to Have:
- Interest in personal finance
- Fintech, payments, or banking experience
- Experience with cloud-native technologies
- Experience scaling highly available, mission critical systems
Compensation and Benefits
The base pay range for this role is listed below. Final base pay offer will be determined based on individual factors such as the candidate’s experience, skills, and location.
