Senior Manager, Software Engineering

What You'll Do:

• Manage one or more teams and be responsible for design, development and maintenance of applications, systems and services with high quality, adhering to industry best practices and standards
• Contribute to technical discussions, design/architecture and code reviews
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to deliver end-to-end products and features in a timely manner and work to continually identify opportunities to improve
• Define and promote best practices and processes through the entire software development life cycle, including design, documentation, code reviews, QA, CI/CD, observability, production support, etc
• Hire, retain and grow top talent, providing guidance and mentorship to team members
• Implement feedback mechanisms and metrics for data-driven continuous product improvement, resource and infrastructure efficiency
• Create and promote a high performance culture of engineering and operational excellence with high levels of ownership, commitment, collaboration, speed and innovation, while continually elevating the quality and caliber of our engineering teams
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices related to product development and cloud technologies

What You Bring:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent from a premier institution
• 12+ years of experience with a strong focus on technology, building large scale distributed systems, services, applications and products
• Proficiency in services development frameworks and technologies such as Java
• Solid understanding of design and architecture principles and industry best practices
• Good understanding of UI technologies, frameworks and libraries
• Proficiency in RESTful API design and development
• Familiarity with databases (SQL and NoSQL) and data modeling
• Experience with containerization and orchestration tools
• Strong problem-solving skills and understanding of SDLC processes
• Good interpersonal and leadership skills to manage and mentor team members, create a good working environment, and drive planning and execution of work
• Experience with public cloud platform
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
