The Risk & Insurance team at DoorDash is responsible for all things corporate insurance at the company. We are a rapidly growing and exciting function that helps DoorDash manage risk and safety with a close lens on the company's bottom line. About the Role

We are looking for a passionate Senior Insurance Data Lead who will be a member of DoorDash’s Corporate Risk & Insurance function within the Finance & Strategy team. As one of the newest members of Corporate Risk & Insurance, you’ll have the rare opportunity to improve our data capabilities and seek data-driven insights to inform our insurance risk management decisions. This includes advising operational strategy and enabling optimal structuring of insurance programs. In this role, you will report to the Senior Manager, Actuary.

• Lead the development and maintenance of key insurance metrics that drive business decisions on DoorDash’s insurance strategies
• Own and develop insurance data infrastructure to support the increasing demand for insurance analytics at DoorDash by creating data pipelines and data models with high data quality. 
• Design and report insurance and claim-related analytics to help optimize insurance operation strategies. 
• Collaborate closely with senior team members to define and report  monthly performance metrics and make suggestions on risk mitigation strategies
• Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless task execution within established timelines

We’re excited about you because you have…

• Flexibility, resourcefulness, optimism, grit, and a growth mindset
• 5+ years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or data engineering roles 
• Advanced visualization and communication skills
• Strong SQL and Python skills are a must
• Experience with Tableau or similar data visualization tools is a must
• Experience in designing ETL processes and data models is strongly preferred
• Experience with Airflow is preferred. 
• Working experience in the Property & Casualty Insurance industry is preferred but not required 
• Having actuarial experience is a plus
• Prior experience working with or for a gig or sharing economy company is a plus

Compensation

The location-specific base salary range for this position is listed below.  Compensation in other geographies may vary.

Actual compensation within the pay range will be decided based on factors including, but not limited to, skills, prior relevant experience, and specific work location.  For roles that are available to be filled remotely, base salary is localized according to employee work location.  Please discuss your intended work location with your recruiter for more information.
