PagerDuty is looking for a Director, Product Analytics to lead the Product Intelligence team and own its functional responsibilities. As a Product Analytics Director, you will have a deep familiarity with managing the analytics process and performing analysis in accordance with best practices. You will define team strategy, deliver insights to product units and leadership, and make product data and analysis available to the organization.

You will lead a team of analysts to distill data insights for key partners (Product Management, User Experience). Your experience building and managing teams will ensure high performance at both the individual and team levels. You will oversee the execution of initiatives, projects, and daily tasks in collaboration with key stakeholders, other departments, and external vendors.

You speak the language of Product Management as well as data analysts, translating strategic questions into technical requirements. You are deeply analytical and thrive when extracting insight from complicated datasets, building and delivering a narrative that’s accessible to stakeholders at all levels in the business.

You will be responsible for communicating analytics plans, goals, resources, and strategy to leadership, product team members, business intelligence, and data partners.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Build, lead, and grow a world-class Product Intelligence team encouraging an environment of rigor, technical acumen, innovation, creative problem-solving approaches, and personal development
  • Develop the Product Intelligence strategy that combines technical infrastructure, data management, and resourcing to support PagerDuty’s Product goals and priorities
  • Foster technical fluency in the data analysis process (pair analysis, peer review, exploratory data analysis, statistical methods, data modeling) and tooling (SQL, Python, IDE, Github)
  • Drive subject matter expertise across the Product Intelligence team
  • Conduct the design and delivery of Product Intelligence deliverables (scorecards, regular reporting, deep-dive analysis, ad hoc analysis, analytics strategies, stakeholder enablement, predictive insights) ensuring quality and analytical rigor while driving continuous process improvement
  • Review and re-define critical metrics to track the Product performance. Build and implement adoption, engagement, maturity, North Star, PLG, and persona frameworks
  • Perform advanced analysis to up-level understanding of our users and customers and their relationship with our product
  • Continuously drive alignment across cross-functional teams to ensure the trustworthiness of the data / reporting
  • Support key business leaders and cross-functional teams by providing counsel, expertise on-going education and training, and recommending Product reporting solutions to business challenges

Basic Qualifications

  • 10+ years of proven background working with analytics in a SaaS or B2B environment
  • 5+ years of experience managing a global team, engaging a team virtually, and providing coaching and guidance to various role levels within the team
  • Fluency with data analysis and BI tools: SQL, Python, Snowflake, Tableau, Databricks
  • Strong proficiency with data modeling
  • Ability to set clear roles & responsibilities and balance the demands of the Product organization against the capacity to the team
  • Highly collaborative and able to work effectively with various personality types across many different teams and role levels within the global organization
  • Creativity, problem-solving, emotional intelligence, and effective communication skills are essential

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experienced leadership skills; team ambassador and executive influencer
  • Thought leader on Product Analytics tooling and workflow 
  • Strongly opinionated on best practices for cross-functional partnership
  • Obsession over product with ability to talk to customers about our value proposition solo or with senior leadership
  • Constantly curious: passion for discovery and driving to an answer
  • Ability to turn data into unassailable answers to complex questions
  • Comfortable leading in a fast-paced work environment and fielding responsibilities spanning multiple projects at any given time 
  • Experience engaging audiences/customers at conferences through 1:1 engagement and/or public speaking
