Director, EDR Engineering

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Leader to drive the design, development, and scaling of our EDR (Endpoint Detection and Response) SaaS platform. This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone passionate about cybersecurity, cloud-native platforms, and building high-performing engineering teams.

You’ll work cross-functionally with Product, Security, and Operations teams to ensure our platform is secure, resilient, and delivers world-class protection to our customers. As a key leader, you'll help shape the future of endpoint defense.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a team of engineers responsible for building and maintaining our cloud-native EDR SaaS solution.
• Define and drive the technical roadmap, architecture, and delivery of scalable, high-availability systems.
• Champion secure development practices and ensure product integrity against advanced threats.
• Collaborate with Product and Security stakeholders to prioritize features, performance improvements, and threat detection capabilities.
• Mentor engineering talent, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Drive agile development processes and ensure timely, high-quality software delivery.
• Own the reliability, observability, and operational excellence of the EDR platform.
• Stay up to date on industry trends in cybersecurity, threat detection, and SaaS infrastructure.

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering, with 3+ years in a leadership role.
• Strong background in cybersecurity, ideally with direct experience in EDR, XDR, SIEM, or threat detection technologies.
• Expertise in SaaS product development and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Proven experience leading distributed systems engineering efforts at scale.
• Solid understanding of endpoint technologies, system internals (Windows, macOS, Linux), and telemetry data collection.
• Familiarity with data streaming, real-time analytics, and detection pipelines.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working at a cybersecurity startup or fast-paced SaaS company.
• Background in threat modeling, incident response, or security research.
• Familiarity with frameworks like MITRE ATT&CK, Sigma, and YARA.
• Contributions to open-source security projects or communities.
