Position Overview

The Diligent Business Technology (BT) System Engineering team is looking for a Systems Engineer who is comfortable wearing multiple hats and enjoys working with cutting edge technology to solve problems. This position is uniquely suited to highly organized individuals with a wide breadth of IT knowledge and the ability to work with minimal direction.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to set and manage expectations are key to be successful in this role. This positions’ primary responsibility will include supporting SaaS platforms (Office 365, SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, Mimecast, etc.) and automation processes and integrations. As a BT Systems Engineer, we are looking for an experienced IT Systems technologist with a passion for researching, architecting, and maintaining company-wide solutions based on a set of requirements. This individual thrives in a fast-paced and high energy environment that will continue to scale, drive automation, and efficiencies.  

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent the BT organization as the SME for critical systems and be a champion for world-class employee experience.
  • Advance and maintain the enterprise-wise Office 365 platform including SharePoint Online and Microsoft Teams.
  • Support the day-to-day administration of Mimecast Email Security.
  • Review and maintain BT system runbooks, documentation, and user solution guides.
  • Assist in the research and evaluations of new products and services that help keep our BT environment current and relevant.
  • Support the daily maintenance of Windows Active Directory across a multi-forest/multi-domain environment.
  • Provide weekly status project updates to key members of the business, up-to and including members of Senior Leadership.
  • Incident and Problem Management: Will provide expertise for complex incidents and problems, escalation point for L1 and L2, interface with vendors support and various partners to resolve incidents within SLAs.
  • Manage or work with outside consultants as needed.
  • Manage vendor contracts including assisting procurement in vendor negotiations.

Qualifications and Competencies

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Engineering/Information Technology preferred.
  • Positive attitude and a big appetite to provide/enhance world class executive/employee experience.
  • At least 5-7 years’ experience including hands-on and engineering/system administration role.
  • Experience working with Office 365 including administration of SharePoint Online and Microsoft Teams in a global environment.
  • Strong experience in architecting and/or administering corporate/employee experience technology stacks (e.g., O365, SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, Mimecast, and security tools).
  • Experience mentoring and guiding junior team members.
  • Strong written and verbal skills and ability to communicate at technical and business levels.
  • Experience relaying sensitive information to appropriate parties. Keeps clients, superiors, and peers updated based on their information needs.
  • Excellent multi-tasking skills. Prioritize and perform a variety of concurrent tasks with minimal direction.
  • Ability to write scripts (including PowerShell) a plus.
  • Microsoft Certifications a plus.
