Staff Software Engineer (Full-Stack, DevOps, Linux Networking)

Are you ready to lead and make an even bigger impact?
Our team is searching for a highly experienced Staff Software Engineer with a deep understanding of software development, DevOps practices, and Linux networking . In this role, you will take on leadership responsibilities, guiding and mentoring team members while contributing to the design, development, and maintenance of our cutting-edge cloud-based technologies. You’ll work on complex challenges across networking, cloud infrastructure, and full-stack development to deliver high-performance, scalable solutions.

This position is based in the USA, where you will work closely with both local and international teams to ensure excellence in execution and innovation. You will also drive DevOps initiatives, helping automate processes and optimize deployments for efficiency and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:
•    Lead the design, architecture, and implementation of scalable software systems, with a strong focus on networking, cloud services, and full-stack development.
•    Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to define and execute the product roadmap.
•    Develop and maintain cloud-based services for managing network devices (on-prem and cloud firewalls, switches, access points, managed power devices, etc.) and security infrastructure.
•    Own and improve CI/CD pipelines, containerization strategies (Docker/Kubernetes), and cloud infrastructure (AWS).
•    Spearhead automation initiatives, reducing manual interventions and optimizing deployments.
•    Mentor junior engineers and guide technical discussions and code reviews to elevate the overall technical quality of the team.
•    Drive technical decisions that impact architecture, scalability, and performance across our platform.
•    Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in software, networking, and DevOps processes.
•    Collaborate with security teams to ensure the platform’s integrity, compliance, and reliability.
•    Optimize Linux networking for large-scale, high-availability services.

About You and What We Need:
•    B.S. or M.S. in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
•    8+ years of experience in software engineering with a strong backend and full-stack development focus.
•    Expertise in Linux systems, including networking (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, HTTP/HTTPS protocols), firewall configuration  (netfilter, iptables, nftables), and network security (NGFW, Intrusion Detection , DNS filtering etc) .
•    Deep understanding of microservices architecture, APIs, and cloud-native technologies.
•    Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages: Golang, PHP, Python, or similar.
•    Extensive experience with CI/CD processes, containerization (Docker), and orchestration (Kubernetes).
•    Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS) with a focus on networking and security services.
•    Proficient in SQL and NoSQL database management.
•    Proven track record of delivering highly scalable and reliable software solutions in production environments.
•    Leadership experience in mentoring and guiding teams through technical challenges.

Bonus Points:
•    Some experience in full-stack development, including firmware development, modern front-end frameworks (React, Angular, etc.).
•    Knowledge of SDN (Software-Defined Networks), NFV (Network Function Virtualization), or cloud-based firewall technologies.
•    Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices and security tools.
•    Experience with performance optimization and low-latency network services.
•    Strong passion for automation, scripting, and solving complex infrastructure problems. 
•    Solid knowledge of DevOps principles and infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).  
•    Familiarity with OpenWRT or other open-source networking platforms.
