We’re looking for a talented Staff Full Stack Engineer to lead the Ad Formats Platform team and keep building the foundational components of ad formats at Pinterest with a strong focus on cross-team and cross-functional partnership.

What you’ll do

  • Own the technical direction and roadmap for a major area in the Ad Formats platform team.
  • Exemplar for technical quality - design, implementation, documentation, code reviews.
  • Develop experiences that lead to improvements to the retrieval systems.
  • Collaborate with product partners in defining the outcomes and direction of the product.
  • Collaborate and be a thought partner to cross-functional teams to build scalable and resilient technical solutions.
  • Be a multiplier on the team, mentor and uplevel team members

 

What we’re looking for:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years working experience in the engineering teams that build user-facing products
  • Deep understanding of Full Stack development and best practices in Python and/or Java, React etc. This role is 80% backend and 20% frontend focussed.
  • Experience in following best practices in writing reliable and maintainable code that may be used by many other engineers
  • Ability to keep up-to-date with new technologies to understand what should be incorporated
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills

In-Office Requirement Statement:

  • We let the type of work you do guide the collaboration style. That means we're not always working in an office, but we continue to gather for key moments of collaboration and connection.
  • This role will need to be in the office for in-person collaboration up to 1-4x per year and therefore needs to be in a commutable distance from the Toronto office (85 Richmond St. W).
