The Rider Platform team is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Staff Software Engineer to join our customer-facing mobile engineering team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in full-stack mobile application development using React Native and TypeScript. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent leadership skills, the ability to create technical documentation, and a proven track record of managing project execution and delegation. As a key member of our team, you will collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver high-quality mobile applications that delight our users and drive ride-hail business growth.
Drive the development of full-stack solutions for our mobile applications and services using TypeScript and React Native, with the goal of enhancing our customers' driverless ridehail experience.
Forge strong partnerships with Product Managers and Designers, blending your creative insights with strategic direction, and transforming ideas into compelling technical blueprints.
Design innovative tools, services, and systems using well-established design patterns, facilitating streamlined iterative development and future scalability.
Efficiently troubleshoot and debug code across both frontend and backend surfaces of our ridehail experiences to ensure a seamless user experience.
Continuously adopt new technologies, tools, and best practices to boost team efficiency and product quality. Lead architectural decisions and mentoring other engineers, fostering a high-quality technical standard across the team.
A minimum of 8 years of experience in software development, with at least 4 years of experience development using React / React Native and TypeScript.
Strong project management skills and a proven track record of guiding projects through all stages, from inception to deployment.
Excellent technical and non-technical communication skills, with the ability to convey a vision to audiences of varying technical expertise and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Experience developing on mobile applications (Android or iOS)
Experience working across a tech stack with React, TypeScript, Express, Postgres, and Redis.
Familiarity with databases such as PostgresDB or Spanner, and broad knowledge of cloud computing platforms like GCP.
Prior experience contributing to the development of a native mobile app (iOS/Android).

The salary range for this position is $166,600 - $245,100. Compensation will vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. You may also be offered a bonus, restricted stock units, and benefits. These ranges are subject to change.
Through our partnerships with General Motors and Honda, we are the only self-driving company with fully integrated manufacturing at scale.
