At this exciting stage of our growth, we want to ensure our data is scalable, reliable, and ready for the future. You would work closely with Product and Engineering teams, collaborating with technical and non-technical peers to drive meaningful change. Be part of a start-up business and product-led growth at Blinq!

This is a hybrid role working from our Melbourne or Sydney locations

What You Will Own:

  • In this role, you will become the strategic owner and technical leader of our data and analytics platforms.
  • Designing and maintaining scalable data processing systems and databases.
  • Building and optimizing data pipelines to support the collection, transformation, and loading (ETL) of data into data warehouses or lakes.
  • Ensuring data quality and accuracy by implementing robust validation and monitoring processes.
  • Collaborating closely with Product and Engineering teams to align data systems with business goals and measure success effectively.
  • Driving cross-functional efforts to address data quality, reporting, and insights, while remediating inconsistencies and gaps.
  • Documenting data processes, architecture, and workflows to ensure clarity and continuity across teams.

What We Are Looking For:

  • You are a great collaborator who can work to understand the needs of different stakeholders and develop a strategy that considers each of these.
  • You are a strong communicator and are confident in advocating for data-driven practices and driving internal education around data.
  • Extensive experience with SQL, data modeling tools like dbt, and programming languages such as Python or R.
  • Hands-on expertise with a modern event data stack and familiarity with tools such as Segment, Amplitude, BigQuery, Looker Studio, Google Analytics, and AWS/GCP.
  • A strong vision for building a scalable, reliable, and cutting-edge analytics platform, with the ability to develop a roadmap to achieve this.
  • A solid grounding in mathematics, statistics, and data visualization.
  • Experience working with data systems that support machine learning workflows is desirable.
  • Proficiency in A/B testing is highly desirable.
Now, let's talk about our inspiring work environment:

šŸ‡¦šŸ‡ŗ Based in Melbourne, Australia, our vibrant team of 50 (and growing rapidly) is making waves in the industry.
šŸŗ Fun-fact: Our office overlooks the oldest building in Australia, an enchanting old Irish pub. Experience history and innovation coming together!
šŸŽ² We believe in fostering a healthy work-life balance, board games, and top-notch stand-up desk workstations. It's all about creativity and collaboration.
šŸ” Autonomy is our guiding principle, which is why we embrace hybrid work. Come in when you need to, or work at your optimal hoursā€”whether that's burning the midnight oil or rising with the sun.

And here's what we offer:
šŸ˜ŽAs an early member of the Blinq family, you'll enjoy a one-of-a-kind chance to influence the company's direction in a dynamic, self-managed, and results-driven startup environment. Say goodbye to corporate nonsense and micro-management because here, you are your own boss. We believe in empowering our team members to unleash their full potential.
šŸ’øEquity in the business and a competitive salary: We value our team members and want to ensure they share in our success.
āœØBut here's the real magic: at Blinq, we're not just creating innovative solutions ā€“ we're creating a culture that thrives on transparency, autonomy, collaboration, and big ideas. We believe in celebrating individuality and encouraging out-of-the-box thinking. With us, you'll be inspired to push boundaries, drive innovation, and ultimately leave a lasting impact on our users on both B2C and B2B realms

šŸšØ If you do not check all the boxes above, that is okay - we enthusiastically encourage you to apply!
We welcome individuals at all experience levels and take pride in being an equal opportunity employer committed to creating an inclusive and diverse workforce. Join us on this remarkable journey as we reshape the way people connect and network
