As a Game Sound Engineer, you will be responsible for crafting dynamic and immersive soundscapes that enhance the player experience in interactive and real-time environments. You will work closely with the game development team to understand project requirements and bring sound immersion into our games and experiences, using commercial game engines and middleware. We are seeking passionate and creative individuals who are dedicated to elevating our digital experiences through continuous professional development and a commitment to supporting and elevating the skills of the team. We are open to filling this position with a Global Contractor.

Responsibilities

  • Design sound effects, dialogue, and music for games and other multimedia projects
  • Implement runtime audio systems- Collaborate with game developers and other artists to understand the project's audio requirements and create solutions that meet those needs
  • Record, edit, and mix sound using industry-standard software and hardware
  • Actively contribute to the creation of audio tools and runtime development to help push the limits of what is possible in game audio
  • Ensure audio content is optimized for in-game performance and adheres to technical specifications
  • Debug and resolve complex audio-related issues in games and other interactive experiences
  • Create and maintain technical documentation and tools to support audio development
  • Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in game sound engineering
  • Tackle additional general programming tasks as needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Sound Engineering or a related field
  • Strong experience with industry-standard audio software, including Pro Tools, Ableton Live, Logic Pro, or similar
  • Proficiency in Unreal Engine 5, either using blueprints or C++ (preferably)
  • Great understanding of soundscape composition for both interior and exterior digital spaces
  • Knowledge of game audio pipelines, including source control and asset management
  • Experience with game engines their integrated audio tools
  • Knowledge of audio-specific terminology and technology
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, critical thinking and attention to detail
  • Good communication and collaboration skills

We also value experience in other engines and their integrated audio tools as well as experience with audio middleware solutions such as Wwise and FMOD.

Additional Information:

The US base salary range for a full-time position is $50,000-$150,000 + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Our team can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process. Please note that the compensation details listed in US role postings reflect the base salary only, and do not include bonus, equity, or benefits.
