What you'll do:
- Play a critical role in guiding technical feature design and managing a full stack team including backend and frontend engineers in-house and outsourced for both mobile and web
- Take ownership over understanding the business and operational problems at hand and how to best deliver solutions for the team
- Partner with business stakeholders to transform commercial ideas into tangible changes in the BEES application
- Put the customer first and move quickly in a dynamic business environment to architect simple but scalable solutions in collaboration with the Product organization and local Business Operations
- Evaluate and raise the bar for your technical team, participating in select code reviews and contributing to the code base directly when needed in order to facilitate increased efficiency and robustness
- Build out the team and grow their capabilities; mentor and develop engineering teams on best practices in development
What you'll need:
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Software/Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or similar technical field
- Relevant development experience; experience at a fast-paced tech company is a plus
- Relevant experience managing or mentoring developers as a tech lead or engineering manager
- Relevant development experience in React, Kotlin Android, Swift iOS
- Experience with Microservices architectures (RESTful/JSON, Spring Boot, Java)
- Fundamental knowledge and general interest in data science and machine learning
- You have an understanding of distributed systems
- You have worked in a scaled Agile & Scrum environment

- A self-starter who can lead multiple strategic projects and deliver results in a fast-paced environment
- Lead from the front – not afraid to get your hands dirty in troubleshooting an engineering problem or chasing a platform issue through resolution
- A creative thinker – enjoys challenges and has a passion for solving complex problems and generating multi-functional solutions that impact millions of retailers
- Have strong communication skills - able to clearly understand business objectives and translate them into an end-to-end engineering plan
