About the Role: 

The ML infrastructure team in TuSimple is building the applications and tools, using cloud computing technology,  to manage various components during ML development life cycle, including computing  resources, training jobs, annotation tasks, feature datasets, and etc. The team has continuously reinvented itself and solved a series of challenging problems in the autonomous trucking industry.  

In this role, you will be responsible for building scalable and reliable applications  to form the foundations of ML development in TuSimple. You will also have the opportunities to tackle the most innovative challenges in ML infrastructure, and join us to build the next generation ML systems.

What You Will Do: 

  • Build and maintain the  training system to manage computing resources efficiently
  • Help develop training pipelines for different ML tasks, including perception, prediction, and etc. 
  • Build and maintain annotation applications to manage the annotation tasks
  • Partner with the ML engineer teams to build scalable and reliable annotation tools  and infractures to support manual and automatic labeling.
  • Develop data-driven products and  feature stores to help analyze ML datasets and improve the efficiency of ML development.
  • Insist and implement engineering best practices across the organization, and improve the functionality and maintenance of existing services and tools.

What You Will Need:

  • Location: Ability to work remotely within the United States.
  • Travel: Ability to travel to San Diego quarterly.  
  • Education: At least a Bachelor’s Degree is required for this role. 

Experience: 

    • At least 6 years of experience with Docker or similar containerization technologies
    • At least 6 years of experience working with configuration management, CI/CD, and other industry-standard DevOps concepts and practices
    • Knowledge of web services, API, REST, and RPC
    • Experience with Jira and other Atlassian technologies (OpsGenie, Confluence, etc.)
    • Ability and desire to work in a collaborative environment and fast-growing R&D team

What Will Set You Apart:

  • Autonomous Vehicle (AV) Industry experience is highly preferred but not required. 
  • Cloud computing experience for AWS is also preferred.
  • Fundamental knowledge of machine learning is highly preferred.

Salary Range
$160,000$200,000 USD
