Position: Senior Site Reliability Engineer
Job Duties:
Conduct performance, scalability, reliability, and high availability testing functions for Nextiva core products and actively champion performance and reliability in all parts of the software development lifecycle. This includes developing optimizations to improve performance, scalability, and reliability.
Develop and publish accurate performance test results, determine and communicate the performance risk of go-live and create a performance test strategy which includes continuous performance testing in CI/CD at various points like Development, and QA Regression.
Coordinate with site reliability engineers and developers to make use of this tooling and help integrate and build client libraries and work with product developers to expose and collect metrics.
Work across teams to provide architectural guidance, drive large projects and contribute to the design, development, and improvement of logging, monitoring, and alerting.
Mentor engineers and help them advance their careers and technical skills.
Position is based out of Scottsdale, AZ HQ but telecommuting is permitted on a case-by-case basis.
Job Requirements:
Education Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or closely related. Employer will accept foreign equivalent if in the same field.
Experience Requirements:
60 months of experience in job offered, Software Engineer, Lead Engineer, or closely related.
Special skills requirements:
Experience coding in Java, Python, Golang to write programs for the automation of the application configuration, testing and deployment.
Work with diagnostic tools like Datadog, Grafana to debug traces, APM, and logs to help improve the application by monitoring functionality, performance, and debug issues.
Experience working with SQL, Elasticsearch, Redis, Postgres, MongoDB to aid debug database issues.
Perform deployment service builds into different environments and support scalability into Kubernetes clusters.
Support deployment on either cloud or on-prem deployment environments in AWS, GCP.
Test performance of the application/service using automated tools like JMeter, K6.
Debug application-level memory and CPU issues with heap and thread dump analysis tools like JvisualVM, IBM MAT, IBM TMDA, and Jstack.
Automate the configuration and provisioning using tools like Terraform, Ansible.
