We’re hiring a seasoned Front End Software Engineer to help us build a petabyte-scale, high-performance observability platform with a laser focus on crafting an amazing developer experience (the DX in HyperDX).

What You’ll Do:

Shape the product: Own and build key frontend features, focusing on frontend systems that streamline debugging and monitoring for developers.
Engage with the community: Collaborate with open-source contributors and customers, solve their challenges, and incorporate their feedback into our roadmap.
Tackle technical challenges: Supercharging HyperDX to blaze through petabytes of observability data with lightning-fast efficiency! You'll unlock groundbreaking analysis tools that empower engineers to crack production issues like never before—all while scaling our cloud-hosted platform to deliver seamless, next-level performance for our growing customer base.

What you'll bring:

At least 7 years of production experience creating top-notch externally-facing UIs and dashboards
A creative problem-solving mindset and desire to join a fast-paced environment
Strong TypeScript skills (Next.js frontend and Express backend)
Proficiency in React
Solid understanding of HTTP and HTTP-based APIs, including REST
Capability to lead projects from initial requirements gathering to the production phase
Experience developing using Docker
Experience with open source and the developer community
A love for developer tooling and an eye for how to design for developers
The ability to move fast and learn from mistakes
An enthusiasm for having the freedom to create with minimal interruptions

Bonus Points:

Experience with SQL for modern databases like ClickHouse
Strong opinions on observability tools and a vision for making them 10x better
Familiarity with additional languages like Rust or PHP for building integrations

Compensation

This role offers cash compensation and a stock options grant. For roles based in the United States, you can find above our typical starting salary ranges for this role, depending on your specific location.
