Adentro is a San Francisco-based company backed by the biggest names in Silicon Valley. Our teams enjoy a remote first and highly flexible work culture. Our technical teams are located in Waterloo, Ontario and surrounding areas. This position is available as a remote first position, within Canada. The candidate should be available during core eastern time zone hours as well as participating in our periodic on-call rotation.

Responsibilities:
As a key member of our Security and DevOps team you are reporting to the Director of Engineering Operations. Working closely with the Director, a successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and further development of Adentro's AWS Cloud Infrastructure; performance and maintenance of our Database technology stack, and our CI/CD pipelines. You will support the work of our engineering teams in the development, release, and production use of our cloud architecture. As a DevOps Developer you should be comfortable with working with a range of technologies and demonstrated expertise in AWS cloud operations and management.

A successful candidate will be a self-starter, have a rich history of owning issues, diving into the obscure, finding creative solutions to interesting problems and assisting with continual improvement initiatives pertaining to complex software systems. They also bring to the table strong organizational skills and a thirst for knowledge.

Requirements:

  • A detail oriented individual with demonstrated problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong desire for operational excellence and continuous improvement
  • Demonstrated expert experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code best practices
  • Experience with the management of core AWS services including EC2, ECS, S3, IAM, RDS (Postgres), Elasticache (Redis)
  • Experience with common security and networking technologies and systems (Load Balancing, Routing, TCP/UDP Protocols, TLS, WAF, Certificate Management)
  • Experience with management and performance tuning of Apache Kafka (AWS MKS)
  • Experience with management of monitoring, alerting and troubleshooting toolsets (AWS CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, InsightOps, OpsGenie)
  • Experience in administration of one or more of the following database technologies MongoDB, Postgres, Cassandra
  • Experience with management and maintenance of Jenkins CI/CD or other similar technologies
  • Experience with AWS ECR, ECS and Docker Containers and deployment methodologies
  • Proficient in one or more of the programming languages Python, Go, Java, Scala. Making software changes to production code as well automation enablement will be required in this role.
  • Proficient in shell scripting languages
  • Experience managing Linux systems using Ansible, Chef, Puppet or the like
  • Experience with near real-time data ingestion would be an advantage
  • Strong written and verbal communications in English

Top Candidates Will Have:

  • Current AWS Certification (Professional Solution Architect and/or Professional DevOps Engineer)
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity or equivalent experience
  • Software Development experience
