Senior Data Engineer

Few words about the project

We’re looking for a Senior Data Engineer (Warsaw or remotely). The main and first project is connected with a conception of building a worldwide media program marketplace, that will be using third-party data. Our client is located in the USA - Boston (East Coast). It’s one of the world’s biggest management and consulting group, listed on the Forbes 500. This American company cooperates and delivers projects and solutions for the world’s biggest companies.

The role will mainly be working on the measurement aspect, there is a lot of data engineering to centralize data and make it production-ready, CI/CD pipelines. As a forward-deployed Data Engineer, you’ll be part of our rapidly growing engineering team and help build the next generation of AI solutions. You’ll have the chance to partner with clients in a variety of regions and industries, and on key topics like AI digital marketing, enabling you to design, build, and deploy new and innovative solutions. We are looking for someone who is open to work so that 6 hours of work-time will fall between 15:00 and 23:00 (daily is 16:30 PL timezone).

What does the recruitment process look like?
1. General interview, introduction to the process, company and project (30-45 minutes)
2. Meeting with a Product Owner (1 hour)
3. Technical interview (1 hour).
4. Decision.

All steps are planned online, of course :)

You will be responsible for...

• Cooperation with the international, 5-6 people team: 2x Software Engineers, 1x Senior Data Scientist, 1x Data Scientist, 2x Junior Data Engineers.
• Work is organized in 2 weeks of Agile sprints and daily stand-up is at 16:30 PL timezone.
• Stack of the projects included tools and technologies like Python, SQL, PySpark, Pandas, Azure Cloud, GCP Cloud, AirFlow (with DAGs), Snowflake, CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform.
• Apply data engineering practices and standards to develop robust and maintainable solutions
• Actively involved in every part of the software development life cycle
• Experienced at guiding non-technical teams and consultants in best practices for large-scale data engineering
• Enjoy collaborating in teams to share software design and solution idea

Requirements

What’s important for us?

• Senior level and at least 5 years of commercial experience.
• Degree in Computer Science or relevant field.
• Very good knowledge and experience in: Python, SQL, PySpark and general knowledge of relational, non-relational and streaming data structures.
• Proficiency with infrastructure as code principles
• Experience in data engineering and working with global and remote agile squads
• Proficiency with analytic software programming (ideally in Python, but can be also another programming language, which is used in data-related projects)
• Being ready to work independently and having ownership of assigned tasks.
• Being ready to work at least 6 hours (overlap) in 15:00 - 23:00 Polish hours. Daily is planned for 16:30 PL timezone.
• Fluent English (C1).
• Perfectly, if you have one month of notice period, or you are available ASAP, but we can also wait for you longer.
• Nice to have: Azure and/or GCP knowledge, AirFlow, AirFlow DAGs, Snowflake, CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform and Pandas.
