The role

The role will help solve how our clients and prospects can deliver their pensions and savings products using our Platform as a Service in the UK. These projects involve significant business change and transformation for our customers and impact many stakeholders including C-level.

We are looking for a candidate who has experience delivering technical projects, including working with technical architects, product owners and client-facing teams in designing effective solutions for customers. The successful candidate will also assist the Solutions team and the wider business when evaluating potential new third-party technologies or vendors which Smart may be looking to integrate with by providing feedback on any technical considerations.

Requirements

• Experience working on or delivering technical projects
• Experience designing Front-End technical solutions and producing architecture diagrams and documentation
• Strong skills and experience with Front-End technologies like React, Remix, GraphQL, TypeScript
• An advocate for Continuous Delivery and automated testing and ability to steer engineering teams to implementing this successfully.
• Experience with cloud (AWS, Azure or Google) and API based technologies
• Ability to communicate and explain technology to clients, including technical and non-technical audiences
• Experience managing a team or in a senior/supervisory technical role
• Knowledge of pensions would be a bonus

• Work with clients and business teams to understand business and client requirements
• Propose, discuss and design Front-End technical solution options for clients and the business based on requirements, resource availability, costs and viability alternatives
• Understand and stay up to date on Smart’s platform, technologies, architectures and technical roadmap
• Produce Front-End technical design architecture diagrams and documentation for internal and external audiences
• Liaise with internal technical architects and engineering teams to ensure that any proposed solutions align with Smart’s platform and technologies
• Work closely with project delivery teams to assist with the implementation and completion of projects within agreed solution designs
• Support the wider business in technical assessments of third-party vendors and technologies during selection processes
