THE OPPORTUNITY

We are hiring a MID-LEVEL FRONTEND/MOBILE ENGINEER for our CODE team - Stickiness Squad in Brazil! 

CODE is an acronym for Consumer Digital Experience, which means we're in charge of the experience and services that will guide people in their wellbeing journey. Our main goal in CODE is to make wellbeing universal. From knowing about Gympass, and getting access to exclusive benefits, to using our vast partner's network, it is in the end-user experience.

CODE teams are responsible for developing and maintaining Gympass's App, frontend, and backend services, and Design System and work closely with product, UX, and data teams to create an excellent experience for the users of our platform.

Our mission as Stickiness Squad is to make the users stick on the Gympass Services. So, we are constantly doing experiments to engage the users. Also, we are working closely with health data platforms (like AppleHealth and Google Health) to have a simple way to access and share user health data across the Gympass ecosystem. 

YOUR IMPACT

  • As a Mid-Level Software Engineer, you are a passionate developer who is driven by getting things done in high quality and timely.
  • You will have plenty of opportunities to take part in architectural decisions, suggest improvements, bring innovation to the table, and make sure design docs are up to date.
  • You will be able to interact with the product team and other business stakeholders in a highly collaborative, agile environment. You will be accountable for your decisions and possess a high level of ownership over the products you are delivering. You will take ownership of some key features, perform pull-requests reviews and take part in all the architectural decisions of the squad.
  • You are a data-driven person who asks for data to support product decisions before blindly implementing things. You try to simplify the scope of what you are constantly developing.
  • You are bold and innovative. You are eager to learn and share knowledge and improve your toolset of technical, business continuity, and communication skills to provide more and more impact to the company.
  • You ensure successful deliveries and promote the long-term technical health of our journeys.
  • Ensure a high bar on code quality standards, making sure devs are proud of their work.
  • You spread development best practices such as code reviews, pair programming, TDD, e.
  • Build reusable code for future use.
  • Take part in incident resolution and troubleshooting in production.

WHO YOU ARE

We expect you to have the following qualifications:

  • Experience in web/mobile development
  • Experience working with modern agile product development teams
  • Experience with ReactJS/React Native ecosystem and GraphQL (Client-side and Server-side)
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
  • Strong communication skills, including verbal and written English and Portuguese

The following would be considered a plus:

  • Experience with Firebase ecosystem (Custom events, remote configs, Crashlytics)
  • Experience with observability tools like Datadog and Sentry
  • Experience with other component-driven libraries/frameworks and Hybrid Native approach
  • Experience with Design System, Typescript, System Integrations and Atlassian tools (JIRA)
