Position Summary:

The Marketing Data Engineer is a pivotal role designed for a highly skilled individual capable of architecting and executing sophisticated data solutions to power marketing decisions. They lead the development of data pipelines, warehouses, and marts, specifically crafted to analyze customer interactions and campaign effectiveness. This role demands a deep understanding of both traditional and emerging data sources, including CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce), marketing automation platforms (e.g., Marketo), and various third-party datasets. The Engineer blends technical expertise with strong interpersonal skills to facilitate cross-functional collaboration, ensuring that marketing strategies are informed by accurate, actionable data insights.

Essential Responsibilities :

  • Develop, construct, test, and maintain architectures (e.g., databases, large-scale data processing systems) ensuring the architecture supports business requirements and delivers maximum value to end users.
  • Design, build, and maintain data marts to provide insights into customer behavior, campaign performance, and ROI.
  • Implement data flows to connect operational systems, data for analytics, and BI systems.
  • Collaborate on the development of marketing tools that leverage data marts for targeted campaign management and customer segmentation.
  • Recommend ways to improve data reliability, efficiency, and quality.
  • Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to provide data in a usable format for analysis and modeling.
  • Ensure compliance with data governance and security policies.
  • Integrate and manage data from various platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Marketo) and other third-party data providers to enrich marketing data.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, sales, product, and IT departments to ensure the timely and successful delivery of data infrastructure projects.

Ideal Skills, Experience, and Competencies:

  • At least five (5) years of experience in a similar role (e.g., Data Engineer, Software Developer)
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and experience with programming languages (e.g., Python, Java)
  • Experience with big data (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, Kafka), data pipeline, and workflow management tools
  • Familiarity with cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and database technologies (e.g., Redshift).
  • Exhibit strong interpersonal and collaboration skills to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical team members across the organization.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Required Education & Certifications:

  • B.A./B.S. in a related field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Technology) or equivalent work experience.
  • Master’s degree in a related field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Technology)

Compensation:

  • Qualified candidates can expect a salary beginning at $110,000 or more depending on experience

*Note: Compensation is benchmarked on local Denver Metro area market rates. Qualified candidates in other locations can expect a salary package that may be adjusted based off applicable cost of wages in their respective location.
