About Kaseya:
Kaseya is the industry leader in IT Complete, an integrated platform designed to empower multi-functional IT professionals. We are seeking a talented and experienced Manager of Software Engineering to lead the development of Datto RMM products, a critical component of our IT Complete suite.

Role Overview:

As the Manager of Software Engineering, you will lead a team responsible for the development and enhancement of Datto RMM. In this hands-on leadership role, you'll oversee the day-to-day operations of software engineering, ensuring the delivery of high-quality solutions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams—product management, quality assurance, UX/UI design, and others—to execute the product roadmap. Your experience in Java, agent development, and cloud-native architecture will play a key role in ensuring our products meet both business and technical objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Technical Leadership
  • Lead the development of Datto RMM, including agent development, cloud-native SaaS architecture, secure endpoint management, and automation.
  • Guide the technical direction for the team, ensuring the implementation of scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions.
  • Ensure strong integration of Datto RMM with the broader IT Complete platform.
  1. Team Management & Development
  • Manage a team of software engineers, technical leads, and architects, providing mentorship and guidance to foster growth and high performance.
  • Set clear goals, conduct regular performance reviews, and support the career development of team members.
  • Partner with HR and Talent Acquisition to recruit, onboard, and retain top engineering talent.
  1. Product Development
  • Work closely with Product Management to define and prioritize product requirements and technical features.
  • Oversee the design, architecture, and implementation of software solutions that are scalable, secure, and reliable.
  • Promote an agile development approach, leveraging automation and instrumentation to enhance efficiency and product quality.
  1. Cross-functional Collaboration & Communication
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance, UX/UI Design, and Operations teams to ensure seamless integration of features.
  • Work with senior leadership and stakeholders to ensure alignment between engineering efforts and broader business goals.
  • Communicate project status, technical challenges, and progress to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements:

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of hands-on software development experience, including strong expertise in Java, .NET, and C#/C++; F# a bonus.
  • Experience in agent development, particularly in the context of endpoint management, automation, or security.
  • Strong experience with AWS services (EC2, ECS, Lambda, RDS, S3) and cloud-native architecture.
  • 5+ years managing or leading software engineering teams, with experience in resource management, coaching, and career development.

Technical Expertise

  • Strong knowledge of cloud-native architectures and best practices for deploying, securing, and scaling software in AWS.
  • Experience with IT process automation, including scripting, patch management, compliance, and audit management.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD, and automated testing frameworks.
  • Knowledge of microservices architecture and software design patterns.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Ability to thrive in a cross-functional environment and effectively communicate project updates, risks, and milestones.
