Scope of Role - 

We are seeking an experienced Lead Business Intelligence Engineer to join our team. As the Lead Business Intelligence Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in driving the development and implementation of our business intelligence solutions. You will lead a team of BI developers and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver high-quality data-driven insights and enable informed decision-making across the organization. This position requires a strong technical background, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to drive excellence in data analytics

What would you do, if hired?   

• Provide technical leadership and guidance to the BI team, ensuring deliverables are high quality and adheres to industry best practices
• Oversee design, development and implementation of scalable data pipelines, data modeling, and data visualization solutions
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into data products
• Act as a trusted advisor to business leaders, providing both insights and recommendations
• Develop data governance policies and procedures to ensure our data is secure and compliant with regulatory requirements.
• Leverage tools such as DBT to build and maintain a modular, version-controlled, and tested data transformation process.
• Optimize and maintain data warehouses for performance, availability, and scalability.
• Identify opportunities for performance optimization and system enhancements, suggesting improvements to existing data infrastructure and analytics processes.

Who are we looking for?

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
• Background of 8-10 years of progressive work experience in data engineering or BI engineering
• 3 years of experience leading a team of Junior and Senior Developers
• Proven experience as a BI Engineer, Data Engineer, or a similar role, with a strong focus on building data pipelines, data modeling, and data visualization
• Outstanding technical ability capable of working on complex projects, cross functionally
• Strong proficiency in SQL and ETL tools (e.g. DBT, FiveTran)
• Experience with Data Warehousing and data modeling (e.g. Snowflake, Redshift)
• Proficiency in Data Visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, ThoughtSpot, PowerBI)
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical audiences
