Our core services include data engineering (data sourcing, processing and storage), DevOps (setting up modern cloud infrastructure), and custom software development (design and development of robust web applications), primarily in a Python, JavaScript, and AWS stack.

The project:

The product is a cloud-based platform that collects, processes, and visualizes large-scale mobility data from various sources, such as GPS, mobile phones, and social media. The platform provides insights and solutions for urban planners, transportation operators, policy makers, and researchers who want to understand and optimize urban mobility patterns, behaviors, and impacts. The platform features an interactive mapping interface that allows users to explore and analyze data and simulations in an intuitive and engaging way.

As a Fullstack Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing and maintaining the front-end and back-end of our web application, using React, Node.js, MongoDB, and other technologies.
  • Integrating and interfacing with various geospatial data sources and APIs, such as Google Maps, OpenStreetMap, and GeoJSON.
  • Implementing and optimizing geospatial data processing and analysis algorithms, such as clustering, routing, and spatial statistics.
  • Designing and implementing user-friendly and responsive web interfaces, using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and GIS libraries such as Leaflet and Mapbox.
  • Testing, debugging, and troubleshooting the web application, using tools such as Jest, Mocha, and Chrome DevTools.
  • Collaborating and communicating with other developers, designers, and stakeholders, using tools such as Git, Discord, and Jira.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of professional experience in full stack web development, preferably with data-driven applications.
  • High level of proficiency in Javascript and Python, with experience using the frameworks React, Typescript, and Django.
  • Strong skills in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and web design principles and best practices.
  • Proficiency in working with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB
  • Some experience working with web map interface libraries and tools, such as Leaflet.js, Mapbox, QGIS and geospatial data such as GeoJSON.
  • Ability to write clean, efficient, and well-documented code, following coding standards and conventions.
  • Experience in testing, debugging, and troubleshooting single page web applications, using tools such as Jest, Mocha, and modern browser DevTools.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, and a positive and proactive attitude.
  • An interest in urban mobility and sustainability, and a willingness to learn new technologies and skills.
  • A bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
