About the Role

The Security Engineering team is looking for a seasoned security leader to work on cloud security. You will be a part of our inclusive, collaborative team responsible for building a safe and reliable delivery network. On the Security team we need to protect all of our customers, as well as the logistics engine itself. It’s no simple task, but it wouldn’t be interesting if it was!

You’re excited about this opportunity because you will…

  • Work directly with the CISO and other senior leaders across the business to set strategy for cloud security at DoorDash
  • Provide best practices on secure cloud implementations, automated provisioning of infrastructure via Terraform, and cloud-ready application architectures
  • Lead the design, deployment, management, and improvement of complex, scalable security cloud infrastructure services/tools for DoorDash technology stack 
  • Define security requirements, collaborate with other departments to implement the security requirements, and measure success towards meeting security needs 
  • Provide continuous feedback, address underperformance, and recognize the individual strengths and contributions of team members
  • Help develop careers by assigning team members to projects tailored to their skill levels, personalities, work styles, and professional goals
  • Develop strong relationships and work cross-functionally with partners across organizations and functions to increase the impact of the team’s work
  • Communicate effectively via video conferencing for meetings, technical reviews, and onsite delivery activities

We’re excited about you because…

  • 5+ years of security engineering experience in a cloud-production environment or equivalent industry experience and 2+ years of management experience
  • Experience providing technical leadership and guidance, and thinking strategically and analytically to solve problems
  • Ability to work in a very fast-paced and diverse environment and are comfortable wearing multiple hats in support of getting to strong security outcomes
  • Lead with a people-first approach, is able to facilitate a conversation rather than dictate it, and is empathetic to divergent viewpoints
  • Experience in driving security capabilities across AWS utilizing technologies such as Terraform 
  • Experience with microservices and containers such as Docker and Kubernetes

Pursuant to the Colorado Fair Pay Act, the base salary range in Colorado for this position is $179,775 - $243,225, plus opportunities for equity and commission. Compensation in other geographies may vary.
