Aurora hires talented people with diverse backgrounds who are ready to help build a transportation ecosystem that will make our roads safer, get crucial goods where they need to go, and make mobility more efficient and accessible for all. We’re searching for a Data Analyst II.

In this role, you will

  • Support the core Test Triage team, as well as the greater autonomy and software  engineering groups
  • Gather data from various sources of internal systems, and perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) to identify patterns, trends, and insights. Use statistical methods to analyze data and generate reports
  • Create and maintain dashboards and reports using BI visualization tools like MODE BI, QuickSight, or similar. Present findings and insights to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams of product managers, engineers, data scientists, and triage analysts to define, coordinate, and execute on the direction of Aurora’s autonomy and product development 
  • Get to know the inner workings of Aurora’s autonomous vehicles and end-to-end triage workflows.  Using this knowledge you and your team will:
  • Define, create, and maintain automation, tooling, workflows, and analysis tasks to support current operational processes as well as allow for future scalability


Required Qualifications

  • 1+ years of relevant experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or a related field
  • Proficiency in SQL for data querying and manipulation
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R for data analysis
  • Experience with data visualization tools like MODE BI, QuickSight, or similar
  • Superb analytical and problem solving skills, and an ability to deeply understand the "why" and "how" of what we are working on
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Experience creating, executing, and optimizing processes. Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in work


Desirable Qualifications 

  • BS, MS, or PhD in Statistics, Operations Research, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Knowledge of machine learning techniques and tools is a plus
  • Experience in a relevant industry showing a track record of research and analysis
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud) is advantageous


The base salary range for this position is $83,000-$125,000 per year.  Aurora’s pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future. The successful candidate will also be eligible for an annual bonus, equity compensation, and benefits.
