About the job

Scaleway is looking for a Backend Developer to join the Users & API team.

Our team is in charge of the IAM product and responsible for managing user accounts and permissions across all APIs in the Scaleway Elements’ cloud ecosystem.

This wide-reaching project is at the core of Scaleway’s cloud ecosystem. Examples of what’s included are customer account management, anti-fraud, and distributed permission management tools.

Minimum Qualifications

At least 2 years of experience in back-end development
Ability to write well-tested code
Good understanding of the HTTP protocol and REST APIs
Experience with databases, SQL queries optimization, transactions
You have already worked on asynchronous workload (queue + worker)
Capable of making a deep dive into a large code base
Git fluency
Eager to learn new things every day

Preferred qualifications

Experience with micro-service ecosystems
You have already deployed a production application on a cloud platform
Knowledge of gRPC and Protobuf.
Fluent in Golang or Python.
Familiar with common DevOps tooling like Docker / CI-CD / Ansible.
You are fluent in both English and French

Responsibilities

Design, develop and maintain new features on micro-services owned by the team
Write simple, clean, coherent and well-tested code
Take every opportunity to fight technical debt
Carefully review the team's merge requests
Actively participate in all team agile rituals (daily, retrospectives, etc.)
