WHAT YOU’LL DO

As an Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for the development of tools and workflows aimed at automating repetitive tasks and preventing incident occurrence. Your duties will include the creation and maintenance of operational runbooks for automation scripts. You will be expected to document and enhance troubleshooting procedures for the Operations team. Your assistance will be required in improving infrastructure across various environments. You will be conducting root-cause analysis of defects and performing deep dives into live issues. Your role will involve direct interaction with customers to assist in controlled production deployments. A self-starter attitude and a growth mindset are expected of you while working collaboratively as part of a team. Your role will also involve engaging with internal and external stakeholders in a collaborative manner.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are actively seeking a seasoned Automation Engineer who exhibits initiative, innovation, and strong analytical and problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate would be one who has accumulated a minimum of 5-6 years of relevant experience in Windows System Administration and has developed advanced PowerShell scripting skills. Proficiency in PowerShell scripting is a prerequisite, and prior experience with Robotic Process Automation (RPA) could provide a competitive edge.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • The candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 5-6 years of experience serving as an Automation Engineer or in a similar capacity.
  • They possess a strong understanding of network IT infrastructure and are adept at remote Windows system administration.
  • They are proficient in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, and Bash.
  • They exhibit excellent problem-solving skills and have the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
  • They have experience working in a Network Operation Center (NOC) environment and are familiar with the monitoring and alerting tools used in NOC operations.
  • They possess effective communication skills and have the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, develop, and implement automated solutions aimed at optimizing IT processes.
  • Create and maintain clear and comprehensive operational runbooks for automation procedures.
  • Enhance troubleshooting procedures for the Operations team (1st & 2nd level support).
  • Collaborate with the team to identify automation opportunities and continuously improve our infrastructure across various environments.
  • Perform root-cause analysis of incidents and effectively troubleshoot live issues.
  • Engage with the customer to ensure seamless and controlled deployments.
  • Demonstrate a strong "team player" attitude and growth mindset.
