Position Summary:

The Analytics Engineer designs, develops, and maintains analytics platforms and reporting tools that support the business intelligence and analytics needs of various stakeholders. They work closely with cross-functional teams, including data analysts, data engineers, and data scientists, to analyze complex datasets, identify trends, and develop actionable recommendations. The Engineer contributes to the organization's success by driving informed business strategies and optimizing operational processes.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Transforms and joins disparate data to create new optimized datasets for analytics purposes
  • Implements BI strategies, frameworks, and methodologies to support data-driven decision-making
  • Conducts comprehensive analysis of large and complex datasets using statistical methods, data mining techniques, and advanced analytics tools
  • Develops interactive and visually compelling dashboards and reports to communicate findings effectively
  • Works collaboratively with peers to solve pressing data issues
  • Mentors junior Engineers
  • Presents findings to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner, facilitating informed decision-making at various levels of the organization
  • Ensures data integrity, accuracy, and reliability by implementing data governance processes and quality control measures
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including data analysts, data engineers, and data scientists, to identify business requirements, data sources, and analytical needs
  • Participates in on-call rotation

Ideal Skills, Experience, and Competencies:

  • At least two (2) to six (6) years of experience in BI, data analysis, or a similar role.
  • Advanced experience in SQL.
  • Intermediate experience with data modeling and frameworks such as DBT.
  • Experience with analytical databases such as Redshift, Athena, BigQuery and Presto.
  • Advanced experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar.
  • Experience with job orchestration and/or ETL tools such as Airflow, Prefect, Glue, Talend or Informatica.
  • Experience with programming languages such as Python or R for data manipulation and analysis.
  • Experience with statistical analysis, data mining, and advanced analytics techniques.
  • Intermediate experience with data governance principles and data quality management.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to analyze complex business problems and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.

Required Education & Certifications:

  • B.A./B.S. in related field or equivalent work experience

Compensation:

  • Qualified candidates can expect a salary beginning at $100,000 or more depending on experience

*Note: Compensation is benchmarked on local Denver Metro area market rates. Qualified candidates in other locations can expect a salary package that may be adjusted based off applicable cost of wages in their respective location.
