Systems Architect – Finance Team (Enterprise Planning and Compensation Systems)

The Systems Architect for the Finance Team will be responsible for designing, integrating, and maintaining enterprise planning and compensation systems that align with business needs. This role will be pivotal in supporting internal financial planning as well as performance and compensation planning. Experience with Varicent and/or Anaplan is highly desirable, as you will be managing and enhancing these platforms to meet the evolving needs of our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

System Design & Architecture:

  • Lead the architecture, design, and configuration of enterprise financial planning and compensation systems, focusing on scalability, security, and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define system requirements, ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives.

Implementation & Integration:

  • Drive implementation of new modules or features, ensuring smooth integration with existing financial, CRM and HR systems.
  • Design data integration workflows and ensure seamless data flow between systems, including ERP and CRM platforms.

Platform Expertise & Optimization:

  • Act as the subject matter expert for Varicent and/or Anaplan, leveraging best practices to optimize these platforms for financial planning and compensation.
  • Develop and implement system improvements, monitor performance, and troubleshoot issues as they arise.

Collaboration & Support:

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Finance, HR, and IT, to understand business needs and ensure effective system usage.
  • Provide ongoing support and training for end-users to optimize adoption and utilization.

Documentation & Compliance:

  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of system architecture, configurations, and processes.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, data security, and regulatory requirements.

Effective Communication with Leadership and Stakeholders: 

  • Regularly update leadership and key stakeholders on project progress, system updates, and upcoming changes. 
  • Translate complex technical details into clear, actionable insights, ensuring alignment and understanding across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Facilitate feedback loops to address concerns and refine system architecture based on stakeholder needs and business objectives.

Lead Comprehensive Testing and Validation: 

  • Develop, implement, and oversee end-to-end testing and validation processes to ensure system integrity, reliability, and performance. 
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to define test requirements, create test plans, and monitor testing phases, ensuring adherence to quality standards and identifying areas for optimization and improvement.

Preferred Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in systems architecture, implementation, or administration in a finance or SaaS environment. Level is flexible for the right person. 
  • Demonstrated experience with Varicent and/or Anaplan; certification(s) in either platform is a plus.
  • Strong background in enterprise financial planning and compensation systems, preferably within a SaaS company.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in data integration techniques, APIs, and ETL tools.
  • Experience with ERP systems and familiarity with CRM and HRIS systems.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong problem-solving skills with a strategic and analytical mindset.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
