Systems Administrator, Business Systems 

Fastly Business Systems team is looking for a Systems Administrator, Salesforce. This role will be responsible for the day to day support of our Salesforce user community.  We manage the systems that encompass the entire buyer’s journey from initial lead through marketing, sales, renewal, accounting, customer success and advocacy using tools including Marketo, Salesforce, Aria, NetSuite, and Zendesk. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of solving business problems and implementing solutions in Salesforce and its ecosystem from end-to-end, working with both internal (and sometimes external) stakeholders. This role reports to the Go-to-Market Systems Operations Manager.

What You'll Do:

  • Implement and maintain Salesforce customizations, including CPQ configuration, custom fields and objects, layouts, workflows, flows, validation rules, roles, profiles, permissions, and so forth.
  • Implement and maintain integrations to related business systems, including: Marketo, LeanData, Outreach, Gainsight, Zendesk, Xactly, Drift, Bizible, Docusign, and homegrown systems
  • Provide support to end users of Salesforce  and related systems for escalated issues.
  • Simplify, enhance, and modernize existing features.
  • Participate in the planning and analysis of business requirements for systems changes and enhancements.
  • Monitor performance and scalability, and refactor implementations when indicated.
  • Improve the overall quality and completeness of documentation.
  • Partner with developers and business systems analysts to establish workarounds, reproduction of issues, root cause analysis and identify areas for improvement.
  • Identify time-consuming internal processes and assist in building reliable, scalable, and maintainable solutions to automate them.
  • Manage fast-changing priorities in a dynamic environment to deliver the most impactful solutions to business stakeholders

What We're Looking For: 

  • 5+  years experience as a Salesforce administrator or similar role.
  • Ability to juggle several simultaneous customization projects from end-to-end, including validating requirements, designing/developing the solution, and working with stakeholders to roll out the solution. 
  • Proficiency with Salesforce, including a strong understanding of security and customization capabilities across Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and the overall Force.com platform in a Lightning-based environment.
  • Demonstrable experience customizing the platform based on user requirements including custom fields and objects and layouts along with automation capabilities such as workflows, process builder, flows, and validation rules and security.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce permissions, roles, reports, dashboards, and logical formulas.
  • History of working with Salesforce developers or external contract teams to implement more complex solutions which require code development. 
  • Prior experience in a SaaS or usage/consumption-based business preferred.
  • An understanding of B2B Lead-to-Quote and Quote-to-Cash processes and how these processes are managed in a Salesforce environment.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, communicate delays, and clarify ambiguous requirements.
  • Exceptional communicator, strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Self-motivated, creative person with analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and interpersonal skills and an ability to adapt quickly to shifting priorities.
  • Basic understanding of database and integration approaches. 
  • Be able to write medium complexity SOQL queries 

 

We’ll be super impressed if you have experience in any of these: 

  • Specific experience implementing 3rd party apps from the AppExchange within SFDC as well as integrations with external 3rd party applications (such as Marketo, LeanData, Outreach, Zendesk, ZoomInfo, Bizible, etc.).
  • Current Salesforce Certification(s) – Salesforce Administrator or better, Trailhead profile, or Salesforce community involvement.
  • Implementation and maintenance of production monitoring or event management tools, such as Splunk, Graphana, Prometheus, and so forth as applied to Salesforce.
  • Use of configuration management and/or seeding tools as applicable for Salesforce, such as Gearset and github.

Work Hours: This position will require you to be available during core business hours as well as an on call rotation.

This position is open to Hybrid Work Locations.

The preferred locations for this position is:

  • San Francisco, California

Fastly currently embraces a largely hybrid model for most roles which allows employees flexibility to split their time between the office and home.

Salary:

The estimated salary range for this position is $114,200 to $142,750.

Starting salary may vary based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, and location.

This role may be eligible to participate in Fastly’s equity and discretionary bonus programs.
