Role Overview: 
We’re currently seeking an exceptional Structural Engineer to design, engineer and stamp permanent foundation systems and retaining wall design for residential prefab projects. Project scopes will evolve as Villa expands into new markets, including, but not limited to: ADUs, single family homes, duplexes, multifamily, etc.

What You Have:

  • Bachelor's Degree with at least two years of experience as a structural engineer, preferably in residential construction. 
  • California Professional Structural Engineer license required (applicant to apply for new state licensing as required).
  • AutoCAD proficiency is required; Bluebeam,Autodesk Revit, Adobe Acrobat and Google Office Suite proficiency is preferred.
  • A track record of personal accountability, and a high standard of integrity and professionalism. 
  • Team player with a strong desire to help reinforce and improve internal processes.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Receptive to feedback, with the willingness to learn and embrace continuous improvement.
  • A desire to learn, grow and get in on the ground floor of a company that is changing the way the world views housing.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, and can effectively coordinate and drive to resolution in a remote work environment. 
  • Lead by example as to how to best represent Villa and clients’ interests.
  • Manufactured home experience is a plus.

What You'll Do:

  • Design, engineer and submit permanent foundation sets (PFS) for prefab residential projects. This includes, but is not limited to: site evaluation, stem wall/pier and beam foundation designs, structural load calculations, local building code compliance and detailed engineering plans and drawings for local building, HCD and third party agency submittals.
  • Design and engineer retaining wall drawings for sloped project sites.
  • Provide, when necessary, both structural observation and conformance letters.
  • Collaborate with the growth team to engineer creative structural solutions for complex sites.
  • Coordinate with the Product and Production team and select manufacturing partners to design innovative, affordable prefab housing designs.
  • Coordinate and support team members, contractors, surveyors, architects, local and state government agencies and other third-party professionals regarding the permitting, delivery and installation of prefab residential housing projects throughout California.
