Position Overview

As a Staff Software Engineer at Diligent, you’ll lead the design and development of robust, scalable, and user-centric frontend applications using Angular and TypeScript. In this Staff Individual Contributor role, you will drive technical direction and cross-team architecture, collaborating closely with product, design, and engineering stakeholders. You’ll have significant ownership across the entire frontend lifecycle—from architecture and implementation through deployment and monitoring—while helping shape our AI strategy and mentoring teams on AI capabilities, safety, and governance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and evolution of frontend architecture across multiple teams, ensuring consistency, performance, and scalability.
  • Influence and define the frontend technology stack, with a focus on Angular, TypeScript, and modern web standards.
  • Act as a technical consultant to stakeholders, translating business needs into elegant, user-centric frontend solutions.
  • Evaluate and pilot emerging frontend and backend technologies, frameworks, and tooling to improve developer productivity and user experience.
  • Own projects end-to-end, from prototyping and implementation to deployment and monitoring, with a focus on frontend excellence.
  • Pioneer AI-driven solutions by advising on model capabilities, crafting effective prompt strategies, and embedding governance and monitoring into development workflows.
  • Partner with Product, Security, and DevOps to shape technical roadmaps, ensure compliance, and seamlessly integrate AI features that deliver real business value.
  • Mentor engineers in best practices and AI-augmented workflows, fostering a culture of experimentation, learning, and ethical AI adoption.
  • Stay ahead of emerging AI trends and regulations, proactively adapting designs and practices to meet evolving standards and steer future innovation.

Required Experience/Skills

  • 7–10 years of experience building modern, scalable frontend applications, with deep expertise in TypeScript and Angular.
  • Proven track record of technical leadership in frontend architecture, including cross-team influence and mentoring.
  • Experience delivering robust applications using both backend infrastructure and modern frontend tooling, with familiarity in DevOps practices such as CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code.
  • Integrates security best practices (such as authentication, authorization, secrets management, and privacy/bias checks) into all work, including AI-powered and user-facing features, and embeds these controls in delivery pipelines.
  • Deep understanding of AI integration in frontend applications, including prompt engineering, model architectures, bias and safety concerns, and the ability to guide teams on responsible and user-friendly implementations.
  • Excellent at communicating technical and AI-related concepts to diverse stakeholders, with a proven ability to lead projects, shape engineering culture, and mentor peers in AI-augmented development workflows.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent experience.
