Even if you might not meet every requirement, we strongly encourage you to apply. You might just be the right candidate for us.

Cruise is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Power Integrity Engineer to join our dynamic team. Proficiency in Signal Integrity is a big plus! As a Power Integrity expert, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the robustness and reliability of our SoC, SiP, and board systems, by designing, analyzing, and optimizing power delivery networks and ensuring integrity across our products. Your expertise will contribute to the development of cutting-edge Autonomous Vehicle technologies and enable us to deliver high-quality, high-performance self-driving cars.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Power Integrity Analysis: Perform power integrity analysis for SoC, SiP, and board systems, including power distribution network (PDN) design, decoupling capacitor selection and placement, power integrity simulations, and power noise characterization.
  • Power Delivery Network Design: Design and optimize power delivery networks for complex electronic systems, ensuring low power noise, adequate decoupling, and efficient power distribution.
  • PCB Design Support: Collaborate with PCB designers to provide guidance and support in power integrity aspects of PCB layout, ensuring proper placement of decoupling capacitors, controlled impedance routing, and optimal stack-up design.
  • Component Selection and Evaluation: Work closely with cross-functional teams to select and evaluate power-related components, including power regulators, decoupling capacitors, and magnetics, based on system requirements and performance objectives.
  • Test and Measurement: Develop and execute test plans to validate power integrity performance of electronic systems using advanced test equipment in the lab. Analyze and interpret measurement results.
  • Design Optimization: Identify opportunities for design improvements and propose innovative solutions to enhance power integrity performance. Collaborate with design teams to implement recommended changes and validate their impact.

What you must have:

  • BS/MS/PhD in electrical engineering with 10+ years of related experience.
  • Proven experience in power integrity analysis, and design optimization for electronic systems, including SoC, SiP, and board systems.
  • Strong knowledge of power delivery network design, including PDN impedance control, decoupling capacitor selection and placement, and power integrity simulation tools.
  • Experience with PCB layout design and understanding of PCB manufacturing processes.
  • Hands-on experience with test and measurement equipment for power integrity characterization.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to analyze complex systems to identify potential issues and propose effective solutions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present technical information to cross-functional teams and leadership.

Bonus Points:

  • Skillful on signal integrity analysis to optimize high-speed digital signal paths, including controlled impedance routing, termination schemes, crosstalk analysis, and eye diagram analysis.
  • Hands-on experience with test and measurement equipment for signal integrity characterization.
