About Netskope

Today, there's more data and users outside the enterprise than inside, causing the network perimeter as we know it to dissolve. We realized a new perimeter was needed, one that is built in the cloud and follows and protects data wherever it goes, so we started Netskope to redefine Cloud, Network and Data Security.

Since 2012, we have built the market-leading cloud security company and an award-winning culture powered by hundreds of employees spread across offices in Santa Clara, St. Louis, Bangalore, London, Paris, Melbourne, Taipei, and Tokyo. Our core values are openness, honesty, and transparency, and we purposely developed our open desk layouts and large meeting spaces to support and promote partnerships, collaboration, and teamwork. From catered lunches and office celebrations to employee recognition events and social professional groups such as the Awesome Women of Netskope (AWON), we strive to keep work fun, supportive and interactive.  Visit us at Netskope Careers. About the Role

We are seeking a Staff Engineer in Brazil to lead the reliability, support, and scaling of the Netskope AI Gateway, our industry-leading platform that empowers global enterprises to securely unlock the transformative power of Generative AI.

Combining SRE, backend development, and customer escalation management, you will be the technical anchor for our Western Hemisphere operations. You will manage our cloud control plane and troubleshoot complex deployments across diverse environments, including SaaS, IaaS, and on-premise customer infrastructure. In this dynamic environment, you will be expected to wear multiple hats, take extreme ownership, and operate at the very forefront of AI technology.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Service Ownership: Architect, scale, and maintain our core on-premise AI Gateway solutions, alongside the supporting backend services and API endpoints.
  • Incident Management: Act as the primary technical lead for regional incident response, perform RCAs, and implement architectural fixes.
  • Observability: Optimize monitoring, logging, and alerting (Prometheus, Grafana) across cloud and on-prem deployments to meet strict SLAs.
  • Collaboration: Work with global engineering, product, and support teams to translate operational challenges into scalable software solutions.
  • Mentorship: Drive engineering excellence across the team by establishing and advocating for best practices in reliability, security, and scalable system design.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Experience: 8+ years in software engineering/SRE, with 5+ years focusing on cloud technologies and distributed systems.
  • CS Fundamentals: Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, operating system fundamentals, and software design principles.
  • Kubernetes Expertise: Deep, hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes, specifically debugging workloads, networking, and storage in on-prem or hybrid environments.
  • Programming: Strong proficiency in Golang or Python.
  • Networking: Deep understanding of proxy/gateway networking concepts (DNS, TCP/IP, HTTP/S, TLS, Load Balancing).
  • Architecture: Expertise in microservices architecture, RESTful API design, and navigating complex distributed system trade-offs.
  • CI/CD: Hands-on experience building, maintaining, and troubleshooting CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
  • Global Teams: Proven experience working effectively in geographically distributed engineering teams across different time zones.
  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written English skills for complex technical collaboration.

Nice to Have

  • GenAI Ecosystem: Familiarity with LLM provider schemas and APIs
  • Cloud Platforms: Experience operating services in AWS or GCP.
  • Event Streaming: Experience with message brokers like Apache Kafka.
  • Serverless: Experience with AWS Lambda or Google Cloud Functions.
  • Cybersecurity: Knowledge of secure web development, ZTNA, or DLP concepts.

Education

  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent required; MS strongly preferred.
