Our product engineering team, Search & Discovery, is focused on building innovative services and APIs that enable seamless data access and enhance the user experience for our community of donors and nonprofits.

We are seeking a Software Engineer to join our Search & Discovery team and contribute to the development of cutting-edge solutions that enhance our platform.

Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the design, development, and implementation of software components for the search and discovery features of the Classy platform.
•  Collaborate with team members to understand product requirements, design technical solutions, and deliver high-quality code.
• Participate in code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and issues, and assist in the testing and validation of software components.
• Actively engage in team discussions and contribute to technical decision-making processes.
• Continuously learn and stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• 3+ years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on backend development.
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, Python, Go, or Node
•  Experience with databases, including relational and NoSQL databases.
• Familiarity with search and indexing technologies such as Elasticsearch, Solr, or Amazon CloudSearch is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and creatively.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience with version control systems such as Git.
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment.

The total annual salary for this full-time position is $110,000 - $150,000 + equity + benefits.  As this is a remote position, the salary range was determined by role, level, and possible location across the US. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
