Sony Interactive Entertainment's Future Technology Group (FTG) team is leading the cloud gaming revolution, putting console-quality video games on any device! We are looking for passionate software engineers who are fascinated by the technologies behind the Internet and cloud computing.
 
As part of the Technical Operations Systems & Integrations team, you’ll help design, build, and deliver systems that improve network observability and protection across a large globally distributed infrastructure.
 
Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with engineers and customers to design, implement, and maintain scalable systems and services.
  • Translate functional requirements into clear, testable, and maintainable technical solutions.
  • Ownership of features or components with guidance from senior engineers, driving them from design through deployment.
  • Participate in architecture discussions and code reviews to ensure quality and maintainability.
  • Contribute to system integrations and automation efforts that improve operational efficiency.
  • Debug and resolve production issues with attention to reliability and root-cause analysis.
  • Work closely with engineers to define and implement effective test strategies.
  • Provide support to junior engineers through code reviews and knowledge sharing.
  • Explore new tools and technologies to improve team productivity.
Requirements
  • BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 3–6 years of software-development experience.
Skills & Knowledge
  • Strong proficiency in Java and/or Python.
  • Experience developing software for Unix/Linux environments.
  • Solid understanding of distributed systems and scalable architectures.
  • Familiarity with both relational and NoSQL databases.
  • Understanding of REST, JSON, and web-service design principles.
  • Experience with version-control tools such as Git and GitLab.
  • Exposure to Docker, Kubernetes, Prometheus, Consul, or related technologies.
  • Working knowledge of network fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing).
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated-testing frameworks.
