Your Mission
As a Software Architect you’ll report to the Head of Product and Engineering Germany. We are scaling the team from 10 to 26 people, and you’ll be the first local product architect supporting the 3 squads within the local product tribe. You’ll work closely with the dedicated Engineering Manager for each squad to build a scalable product architecture that fulfils the needs of our customers, ensures compliance and data security, and sets our business up for growth. You’ll coach and collaborate with product builders. It is your mission to master and leverage our in-house low-code software platform JetLang (for more info feel free to read our
blog article) to build viable payroll technology for our German customer base.
Your Challenge
- Collaborate with the 3 local squads in delivering software to improve the availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency of the German PayFit product
- Within the German product tribe, work closely with the engineering managers, product managers and product builders (a hybrid function merging engineering, product, and design elements) defining the best implementation strategies and co-deliver with the teams
- Build a culture of technical excellence: automated testing, data-driven decisions, best practices, incremental delivery, quality assurance, incident management and continuous improvements
- Mentor and train other team members on design techniques and coding standards, and cultivate innovation and collaboration across multiple squads
- Lead critical cross-functional initiatives with a systematic problem-solving approach, coupled with strong communication skills, and a sense of ownership
- Learn and master our in-house low-code software platform JetLang
- Work closely with the global “Jetlang Platform Tribe” and Product Architects from other PayFit countries to drive forward the further development of our low-code coding platform
Your Profile
- At least 4 years of experience in Software Development, Engineering, Information Architecture, including at least 1 year of it with full responsibility for code architecture
- Knowledge in designing software systems for large-scale businesses
- Understanding and knowledge of the benefits and challenges of low-code solutions and the ability to translate these into principles and actions
- You strive to understand, synthesize, and communicate complex technical concepts and business problems
- You apply best practices to ensure software is viable, scalable and secure
- Experience in the SaaS B2B space, in particular for HR, tax solutions, or other regulated sectors, is a plus
- You are intrinsically motivated to build stellar solutions together with your team
- You inform your decisions by leveraging data and listening well to your team and stakeholders
- You are fluent in German and English
