About the job

This position is needed to help our effort to productionize the nascent Kubernetes platform.

Twilio supports the technical infrastructure behind messaging, voice and data for many of the world’s biggest companies. It will be your job to support the infrastructure behind that infrastructure. As the world evolves, we are moving to a more and more centralized model, and Kubernetes is at the core of that. As an SRE, you will be responsible for our operations, pipelines, observability for our new infrastructure and the effort to enable users to migrate from older systems.   

Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll:

  • Build systems to ensure reliability and operability of our k8s infrastructure.
  • Define best practices for our applications interact with infrastructure.
  • Define what service health looks like, and define the processes to ensure the service stays healthy.
  • Partner with the development team to build reliability by design.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Generalist knowledge of software engineering and delivery.
  • Understanding of kubernetes at scale.
  • Knowledge of cloud architecture and non-abstract large-scale systems design.

Desired:

  • Expertise in debugging and troubleshooting large scale distributed systems.
  • Experience in building automation frameworks.
  • Previous experience running shared infrastructure.

Location 

This role will be based in our Dublin office or remotely in Ireland.
