Senior Web Engineer

The Opportunity

Incode is seeking a self-starter, dynamic, driven Web Engineer to join our expanding team in Belgrade, Serbia.  

As a Web Engineer, you’ll be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining web applications that are fast, responsive, and highly interactive. You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including design, backend engineering, and product, to implement features that meet our users’ needs and align with our business goals. 

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable and reusable code for web applications using modern web technologies. 
• Collaborate with designers and backend engineers to translate UI/UX designs into responsive, interactive applications. 
• Optimize web applications for speed, scalability, and cross-browser compatibility. 
• Develop and maintain integration with backend services, ensuring a seamless user experience. 
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues across the development and production environments. 
• Implement best practices for web security, ensuring application integrity and user data protection. 
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to team discussions on improving development processes and standards. 
• Keep up-to-date with the latest industry trends, frameworks, and best practices. 

 

Your Profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience). 
• Strong proficiency in front-end languages and frameworks such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript and React, Angular, or Vue. 
• Experience with backend technologies and RESTful APIs is a plus. 
• Expertise in using Git for version control not using GUI, including branching strategies and code review processes. 
• Familiarity with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment pipelines 
• Solid understanding of responsive design and cross-browser compatibility. 
• Knowledge of web performance optimization and debugging tools. 
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. 
• Excellent English communication skills.  
• Strong teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment. 
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development processes and tools like Jira or Notion. 

Nice to have: 

 

Experience with server-side languages and frameworks such as Node.js, Ruby, or Python. 

• Experience with A11Y (accessibility) focused websites. 
• Knowledge of cloud-based services like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. 
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools, such as Docker, Jenkins, or Kubernetes. 
• Understanding of accessibility standards and best practices (e.g., WCAG). 
• Basic undersating of WASM (Web Assembly) is a really big plus
