About the role:

As a Senior Software Engineer at PayFit, you will play a crucial role in building the future of our platform. You will collaborate with product and design teams to develop high-value features, drive the evolution of our architecture and system, and ensure the availability, scalability, and efficiency of our services. Additionally, you will mentor team members, foster technical excellence, and lead cross-functional initiatives.

Must-Have Skills & Certifications:

‧ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, similar technical field of study, or equivalent practical experience.
‧ Strong understanding of software fundamentals including data structures, software architecture, and design patterns.
‧ Proficiency in software development, cloud architectures, systems design, and distributed systems.
A brief overview of our day-to-day stack:
- Technical stack: Node.js (NestJS), TypeScript, React, Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, Terraform, AWS.
- Code collaboration & deployment: GitHub, CircleCI.
‧ Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to tackle complex technical challenges.
‧ Effective communication skills and ability to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
‧ Attention to detail and a focus on delivering high-quality results.
‧ Strong teamwork and collaboration abilities.
‧ Fluency in English.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

‧ Demonstrated technical leadership skills and experience leading software development projects.
‧ Familiarity with Domain Driven Design, Hexagonal Architecture, Systems Design, and Data-Intensive Applications.
‧ Proactive in identifying risks and taking an impact-centric approach to problem-solving.
‧ Openness to embracing and driving the evolution of systems.

Your Future Team:

The Hiring Process:

1. Initial Discovery Call: A Talent Acquisition representative will assess your qualifications and fit for the role.(30 min)
2. Call with an Engineering Manager: You will have a conversation with your future manager to further discuss your experience and skills.(30 min)
3. Technical Interview that comprises of 2 parts:
1) Coding Interview: You will be assessed on fundamental knowledge, including data structures and algorithms. This may be conducted through at-home coding exercises or live coding. (90 min)
2) System design Interview: You will participate in a system design interview, focusing on distributed systems and web architecture.(90 mins)
4. Interviews with your Team: You will meet with the rest of the team members m to get to know them and further assess your fit within the organization. (30-45 mins min)
